Is it possible to regenerate a session by passing it an old session id?

irrgit
For example something like :
cherrypy.lib.sessions.regenerate('old_session_id_here')

I see that the method exists but can be called from the current session, i want to be able to regenerate any session stored.

How would that situation come about?  If the client sends along a session cookie, then the session data will be loaded, unless the session has already aged out, in which case it is simply no longer available.  Old session data is not kept around forever.
